By Being With Jesus
Strength to Face Life
Mark 5:25 -34
Have you ever felt drained of strength? Workplace challenges, family heartaches, illness, and even intimidation from others can drain our strength. Illness drained the woman in Mark 5:25-34. She was without:
- Strength – unable to move forward
- Solution – unable to see a future
- Substance – unable to help herself
She was desperate for energy to face life after a lengthy illness and, with nowhere left to turn, she reached out and touched Christ. Before Jesus left the area, she worked her way to Him with the thought that if she could touch the even the hem of His garment, she could be healed. With the touch she immediately knew that strength had entered her body.
Why did Jesus even ask, “Who touched Me?” Because the woman needed to know that it was more than a magical act that offered her strength. After some delay, the woman spoke up and let everyone know that God had changed her life. The greatest touch that took place was not the woman touching Jesus but Jesus touching and healing the woman.
One of the greatest indicators that we have experienced life change is when we tell others what God has done for us. We need to be faithful stewards with the touch from Jesus that has changed our lives. Go is in the business of changing lives.
