Look How Far Your Giving Goes
Have you ever tried to throw a ball as far as you could?
…or skip a rock over the water?
…or sail a paper airplane you’ve made?
…or understand how far giving through your church goes?
On this one, you may be surprised!
It begins with your gift. This is really important.
The Bible says that “A tithe… belongs to the LORD; it is holy to the LORD.” (Lev. 27:30). Giving a tithe helps us show our love for God and that we care about others knowing Him. If you receive an allowance or earn money, then you can give 10% of that t God through your church.
Ask your teacher or pastor how much of your church’s money is sent to support missions?
What happens next depends on your church
Each church decides what percentage they will send to missions.
Where does your church send its money for missions?
Your church, along with other Baptist churches, sends its money to the state Baptist Convention office in your state. Some money remains in the state, while some it sent to the Southern Baptist Convention.
Then your gift is sent to different areas of mission work in our country and around the world.
What makes this work?
God makes it work, but we use a plan (a way of supporting missions) that we call the Cooperative Program.
YOUR GIFT to God going through YOUR CHURCH…
To YOUR STATE BAPTIST CONVENTION…
To YOUR SOUTHERN BAPTIST CONVENTION…
To YOUR MISSIONARIES AROUND THE WORLD.
Through the Cooperative Program your giving really travels… and really helps share Christ with our world.
