Together, We Are Reaching New Heights
Redwoods are the fastest growing softwood trees in the United States, growing only in the coastal regions of California and Oregon. The conditions there are perfect for these trees to live an average of 600 years, and many live more than 2,000 year. Redwoods are immense, mysterious, and spectacular trees with a tremendous heritage for us to learn from. Consider these parallels:
Redwoods reach up to the heavens further than the length of a football field – up to 370 feet! Just pause for a moment to express gratitude to the Lord for Southern Baptists who have given through the Cooperative Program to touch lives with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Many who experienced life change as a result of ministries supported through the Cooperative Program have now reached a place called heaven.
Redwoods can grow up to 22 feet wide. The Cooperative Program allows Southern Baptists to join together to span out to parts of the world where the Gospel of Jesus Christ has never been heard. What many local churches could never do as one church becomes possible as congregations throughout the land join together to allow the truth to be shared through the Cooperative Program. The width of the program is our partnering spirit.
Much like redwoods, the ministries and missionaries supported through the Cooperative Program will stand tall in places where we live and will reach to the furthermost parts of the world. The Cooperative Program is a mission channel of integrity and credibility whose results will live throughout eternity.
